ILLUSTRATION IN GRAPHIC DESIGN 30S
The ILLUSTRATION IN GRAPHIC DESIGN course will challenge students to explore and develop skills and techniques with knowledge and understanding for the use of illustration in Graphic Design. Using industry standard software programs such as: ADOBE - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Students will combine both traditional and digital illustration for the purpose of visual communication in creative ways with the use of research and roughs from creative and innovative student interest based assignments to reach a level of conceptual illustrative outcomes.

ADVANCED ILLUSTRATION IN GRAPHIC DESIGN 40S
The ADVANCED ILLUSTRATION IN GRAPHIC DESIGN course will challenge students to develop and extend skills and knowledge in the use of illustration. Using software, image capturing, manipulation and photo editing on an advanced level. Technical skills and creativity in areas explored are: hand rendering, anatomy, stylization, digital platforms, colour theory, perspectives etc.
Students will combine both traditional and digital illustration for the purpose of visual communication in creative ways with the use of research and roughs from creative and innovative student interest based assignments to reach a level of conceptual illustrative outcomes.

Roughs and Research are an extremely important aspect of the creative process in Illustration. Ideas don't just happen
all at once, they come from research and developing a variety of thumbnail sketches worked into roughs and resulting in
final illustration solutions. Thumbnail and Roughs are expected for every assignment/project in the course unless otherwise stated.
*Any concerns or questions feel free to talk to me during class, lunch hour or after school. The room is open during lunch hours for students to work on assignments or projects.

As a student in Advanced Illustration in Graphic Design you will be expected and encouraged to complete
all assignments with effort and energy.
ALL WORK SUBMITTED MUST BE ORIGINAL. PLAGIARISM WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC FAILURE.
1. RESPECT: MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, OTHERS, YOURSELF AND THE DESIGN PROCESS
2. NO SWEARING: KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL
3. ZERO FOOD OR DRINK AROUND COMPUTERS: PERMITTED AT ART DESKS
ANY DAMAGE CAUSED WILL RESULT IN PAYMENT FOR DAMAGES
4. LATES and ABSENCES
5. CLEAN UP: CLEAN UP ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. LOG OFF SEVER AND REMOVE ANY FILES FROM YOUR DESKTOP.
TUCK YOUR CHAIRS IN. IF USING PAINT CLEAN BRUSHES AND CONTAINERS THEN PLACE IN RACK.
6. CELL PHONES: MAY BE USED FOR RESEARCH, MUSIC (WITH HEAD PHONES) ONLY. ZERO USE OF SNAP CHAT AND TIK TOK!
7. ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSIONS: PHYSICAL SUBMISSIONS OR DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE STATED ON ASSIGNMENT SHEETS.
MUST BE DONE ON TIME UNLESS OTHER WISE DISCUSSED WITH MR.BEAUDIN. LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL RESULT IN A 5% LOSS
ON FINAL MARK.
* DEADLINES ARE A VERY IMPORTANT EMPLOYABLE SKILL WHICH IS ASSESSED IN TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AS WELL AS THE REAL WORLD.
